[Druid] Is Resto worth it?

As a level 70 druid healer is resto really worth it? I feel like I could heal just as easily with a healing set and specced at my current balance. This can apply to pvp or raiding.

I'd say resto is worth it. From what I've seen, about 90% of the healers in 2v2 and 3v3 arena matches that are above 1850 rating are resto druids. So that means they're really good for that.

I'm not so sure about raiding, but I could see them doing just as well for that too.

I'd probably never do a druid for resto spec, since I like my priests healing+bubbles too much to give it up. But resto druids are really good.

I've been peeking around a bit at Darkalpha, supposedly the best druid (besides me of course). #1 arena in all 3 teams, I think Blackanger linked to him in another thread. I still like balance because I can be an excellent dpser and an effective healer which resto is more excellent healer but not good solo or dps, but I can appreciate their spec now.

I wouldn't say resto isn't good at solo or dps. Its more that they're not as good at it as a dps build is. My priest had no trouble what so ever dpsing or soloing, despite being a healer.

ya, if youre ever bored, head to IF, for alliance obviously, and watch some resto druids duel. i was dueling last night and an old guildmate(resto) beat a full pvp rogue in a duel, just by hot's moonfire and bear form. very interesting to watch.

Resto is easy 2k with a warrior. your warrior keeps things hamstrung u keep kiting and alternate your cyclones and roots to give your warrior time to kill somthing warriors are hard to kill as is because of armor as are druids because of hots the team can outlast almost all others...Beware how ever of BM hunter rogue teams because if that rogue finds u, ur dead *shifty eyes*

IMHO, resto druid is very useful in Battlegrounds/ Arena/ and other such PVP. Of course, priests will always be the best for things such as instances because of they're amazing AOE heals:P
