ok here is whats going to happen in WotLK concerning flying mounts in Northrend. You dont get to automatically use them at start for 2 reasons. 1. Blizzard wants you to actually experience all the details in the environment instead of flying over it. 2. Like you all guessed, you cant flying in Northrend because it has such cold weather. You need to get to level 77 to learn the riding tech. But the biggest rumor i have heard, and blizz hasnt told us yet, is that the forstwyrm might be a player mount, or just used in a DK quest (You do get to fly a Frostwyrm and kill a ton of scarlet crusade members). Hope this helps
sry if this was posted before but i didnt wanna read everything there is a quest u get at 77 78 that allows u to fly in northrend i forgot wat its called tho i think it was arctic flying

Theres been speculation that we may not be able to use flying mounts right away in Northrend, what do you guys think of this? I see why this might be the case, if nobody goes on the ground you don't get to experience the new environments, plus it makes things a whole lot easier to just fly over mobs. I'm guessing there will be some kind of weather restrictions that cause you to dismount in certain or all areas of Northrend and maybe once you hit level 80 is when you can use your mount.
That actually sounds pretty good to me. I won't be using a mount anyway, just checking out the new scenery.

Damn I guess Ill be grinding and farming a gnomefull of gold lol. I love having lots of mounts but it would be cool if we could upgrade them. Like take my 70 epic netherwing flyer and up grade it to a netherwing uberfrost customizable flyer.
