Can anyone recommend a good gaming mouse? I just have a logitech wireless mouse that came with my keyboard, only has 3 buttons. I'd like to get one that has thumb buttons and the scroll wheel can be clicked left and right. This would help a lot with hotkeys in WoW I think.
The 3 I'm looking at are the copperhead, the deathadder and the krait. The copperhead and deathadder have more buttons that I like but it says the krait is designed for mmos, also it has 24 individual click positions for the scroll wheel which I don't understand. The deathadder also has a separate guild wars edition which makes me think it would also be good for mmos. The copperhead has a lot of good reviews but really they all do. Here's the page with their products: Gaming Mouse | Gaming Mice | Razer | For Gamers. By Gamers.™
Let me know if you guys have any further recommendations.
Personally I do not like the feeling of the Razer copperhead. I bought it from newegg and returned it immediately because it felt so uncomfortable. It had no ergonomic design to it and it felt very crappy in my hands. I would recommend logitech mice as they are made for comfort and playability. I currently use the MX518 gaming mouse which is one of the best mouses that I have tried. I have tried the Logitech G7 but returned it because I didn't like the whole wireless mouse deal, although it was comfortable. For gaming you can't beat a wired keyboard and wired mouse.
Thanks for the input jskd. I was at Best Buy and they had the G5 I believe so I tried it out and it felt pretty nice, I just wish they had a razer mouse to compare it to.
I have never looked into gaming accessories. I always obsess over having a powerful enough computer and an excellent internet connection to enhance my game experience. Reading through this though I wonder ....am I really missing out using the mouse and keyboard that came with my computer? What are some of the advantages to joy's, keyboards, or mice that are supposedly designed with the gamer in mind.
I can't help but wonder if this is just an attempt to get thier hands in my wallet and sell me an over priced version of any other mouse with a "cutting edge" plastic case or a keyboard that is a slightly different shape with some stickers on it.....
Just to share my one experience that really turned me off. A buddy of mine bought me an 80 dollar "gaming" mouse that had a package that came with it that had weights you could insert into certain parts of the mouse for customization. It was a really nice gesture but imo it wasnt any different thant the 10 dollar mouse I bought a few weeks back. Oh and it was wireless wich I tend to have issue with as well so needless to say its sitting on its charger on my computer desk sort of like some kind of trophy....never to be used again
