Best raid healers

I saw an interesting topic on the official forums and wanted your opinion. Which class do you think is the best healer for a raid group? A lot of people said that priests have the best AoE healing which is great for groups. I have also heard that resto druids are the best overall healers. Many people on the WoW forums thought shamans were the best. What do you think?

Hmm... that's a hard one. I'm a bit biased towards saying priests are the best healers, since I've never healed with the other classes. I'd say priests, but I've never actually gone on a full raid to see.

I prefer a paladin main healer and shaman off healer. It really can't go wrong.

That definitely is a good combo, people can whack on the paladin all day and he'll be fine as the shammy runs around with hots.

Yeh..we use 2 pally healers (more buffs for all!!) and a priest. Our healers are totally amazing, Im always very comfortable in knowing that they can keep up with almost anything we pull them into

I have been in normal instances with a druid tree of life and he was fantastic to!

Id have to say I prefer pallys,. but its not because they are any better healers, its because they have the best buffs in the game

Imo Pallies for single targets there heals just last all day with no real mana consumption.
Priests are probably best if expect to take a lot of AOE damage and they have specced for it.
Druids are awsome if you dont expect to see a lot of crit or curst damage and they have plenty of time to HOT away.
Shamans I dont really rate as healers, whether ive yet to come across one sufficientley geared/skilled I dont know. The totem utility is welcome but as a a healer they dont cut it for me.

For Kara we have one of each...and it works really well.

I have heard shammy healers can be amoungst the best in the game...but havent seen it myself yet.

Persoanlly I think they get that rep from spamming chain heal, which admittdley is great but it just makes the other healers over heal imo.

Yeh actually...we pugged a shammy in Kara once when our healer had to leave for some reason.
There were many comments made on overhealing....but not being a healer myself I wasnt sure what they were talking about.

Im a rogue...I talk about energy gain and combo points!!!!

I think a well geared priest is your best healer hands down.
