Are mages any good at pvp at level 70?

I haven't WOW since level 60 was the highest level possible. I currently have a level 40 mage that I was thinking about getting to 70, but I dont want a character that is useless for Arena and other PVP oriented stuff. Should I continue leveling my mage to 70 or should I reroll into another class? If you think I should reroll, which character would be the best?

I would say a mage is one of the most powerful classes in the game and can be excellent in pvp if properly specced.

Mages do amazing DPS when specced right. Pom/pyro mages are fantastic if you have a good player behind them.
My bf is in an arena 2v2 team with a pom/pyro mage and they dominate!
In BG's.....frost mages are great......I would say any other spec mage would struggle abit, but if its BG's you want, then def spec frosty.

We have a frost mage in our kara team aswell and he tops dps often aswell...

MAGES are amazing.. i have a 70 warlock and they are good at arena and all but im starting to lvl a mage because they are soo fun and amazing at pvp , im not gonna lie , im gonna quit my warlock cause they get boring. but mages are tight, i like the arcane/fire spec and the frost so far
