Character transfer problem

I'm gonna cut to the chase.

So, I have a lvl 70 character on an account that isn't mine. I've played this character from the beginning and spent ages collecting all the items it has.

The reason why it's not on my account is that I got introduced to wow when I didn't have time or money to create my own account.

Now I'd want this character transferred to my account so I could keep on playing it. The problem is, the person who owns the account on which my character is on is afraid that both of our accounts will get banned if we play at the same time (since both of the account'd need to be in his name and we live in different addresses.)

So, my question is, how likely it is that our accounts get banned if they are on his name and we play from different IP addresses at the same time?

There are few things here that I want to make clear:

- I haven't bought this character, it indeed is mine.
- I haven't bought the account it's on.
- I am only going to pay for the character transfer so the other person won't be making any money from this.
- After the transfer is complete, I'm going to pay the monthly fees on the new account.
- And, I don't know if this sounds stupid to some of you, at the time I created the character I was not aware that it wasn't allowed, the owner of the account never told me. Neither was I told that I wouldn't be able to transfer the character to an account owned by a different person.

I have no experience with thus said problem, however it does violate the terms of use and blizzard would most likely ban you.

i wouldnt worry about it to much, blizzard has to much stuff to worry about right now, the last thing they are going to do is track you down. Besides the point yes it is violating the terms of use like elricwin said, but dont worry to much.

well if its 2 diffrent accounts neither will get banned blizz allows you to transfer characters between accounts now so if u get the character and its on a diffrent account neither will get banned even if both are in the same name
