For your class what are you specced for? As a druid I'm balanced, I haven't tried anything else but I enjoy it the most I think. Someday I might like to try feral but I still don't think I'd like it as much as balance.
My pally was Prot until earlier today, actually, all 70 levels. Now I'm Ret, and its really taking some getting used to. My priest was shadow until 45 then he switched to Disc/Holy until 70, then switched back to shadow. My druid was feral up to 40, then I switched to Balance (just for moonkin form, because it amuses me).
Oh really, how come you did prot while leveling? I thought most pallys did ret until 70 since its the easiest to solo with. If I was a priest I would definitely do shadow too.
Yeah, most pallies are ret during leveling, because its easy to solo stuff, but I didn't solo much. I was running dungeons constantly on my pally, all the way up to 70. I was prot so that I wouldn't ever have to find a tank for a group. It worked out pretty well, just a bit slower than leveling as ret would have been.
But yeah, shadow was fun. Well, not at 70, because my dps still isn't as high as it was when I was Disc/Holy (which makes me laugh, since shadow is supposed to be the dps/special effect tree). But its still pretty fun, since I'm constantly healing people and giving them back mana just by hurting the enemies.
I dumpped points as efficiently as I could into fire for max damage and now I have moved on to the arcane tree for some improved mana conservation amongst other neat tricks (yay silence). I find that I can solo almost any situation with everything my little mage can do and I have to say I am quite pleased with the build until I enter any sort of PvP scenario or come up against a mob with fire immunity. I still manage but I dont feel nearly as indestructable.
When I was a scrub I went to lvl 28 with holy spec! Then my friend told me to go ret. I was ret until I think about lvl 40, and then I went prot. Prot was fun until about 52ish, when my friend yet again convinced me to go ret. I've been ret ever since and I'm loving it. Crusader Strike makes a difference. I plan on staying ret at 70.
